Testing (2002)

  1. If diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition off, with key in ignition. Open driver's door. If chime sounds, inspect for intermittents and poor connection. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . If chime does not sound, go to next step.
  3. Open driver's door. If courtesy lights turn on, go to next step. If courtesy light does not turn on, repair headlights as necessary. See INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  4. Turn ignition to RUN position. Turn radio on. Adjust balance and fade to the left front speaker. If the speaker operates properly, go to next step. If speaker does not operate properly, repair as necessary. See SPEAKERS INOPERATIVE article under ENTERTAINMENT.
  5. Replace the radio, then go to the next step.
  6. Operate system to verify repair. If condition has been corrected, system is operating correctly at this time. If condition has not been corrected, repeat test procedure beginning at step  2.
