DTC P1629: Theft Deterrent System Fuel Enable Signal Lost: Description

Vehicle operation is disabled if incorrect key or starting procedure is used. Body Control Module (BCM) enables crank circuit to starter and sends a signal to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) if correct key is being used. If proper signal does not reach PCM fuel enable signal circuit, PCM will not pulse injectors on, disabling vehicle, even of crank circuit is by-passed. If DTC cannot be duplicated, information included in freeze frame and/or failure records data can be useful in determining how many miles since DTC set. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles.
