Content Theft Deterrent System

Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system option, combined with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), operates separately from PASS-Key(R) II system. CTD system sounds horn and flashes parking lights in event of forced entry through doors or rear hatch, or shock sensor is tripped. Horn chirp, arming and delay features of CTD system are programmable by vehicle operator. System component include remote transmitter, door ajar switches, rear compartment lid ajar switch, Body Control Module (BCM), shock sensor, theft deterrent relay and power door lock switches. CTD system is an internal function of BCM, which utilizes various switch input information. BCM is factory set with a driver's door delay. Driver's door delay gives driver 8 seconds to turn ignition key to RUN position, after driver's door is unlocked with a key. Unlocking door or rear compartment lift window manually with a key, will not disarm system. Driver's door delay can be set for no delay time, if customer prefers disarming system with a remote transmitter.
