DTC P1585: Cruise Inhibit Signal Circuit Malfunction (5.7L Engine): Description

When ignition switch is turned to RUN position, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an improper voltage level on cruise inhibit signal circuit. Output driver modules are used by PCM in order to turn on many current driven devices that are needed to control various engine and transaxle functions. DTC P1558 set when improper voltage level has been detected on signal circuit for at least 30 seconds. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles have occurred without a malfunction.
