Installation Procedure

  1. Install the horn plunger to the steering wheel.

    Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

  2. Install the horn contact plate retaining screws to the steering wheel.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the horn contact plate retaining screws to 5.5 N.m (50 lb in).

  3. Install the horn plunger to the steering column.
  4. Install the inflator module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement in SIR.
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
