Automatic Transmission Dipstick - Dipstick Tube: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the indicator.
2. Remove the left windshield wiper linkage.
3. Remove the fluid filler tube nut (1).
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the fluid filler tube bracket bolt (2).
6. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the fluid filler tube seal (3).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Remove the fluid filler tube.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the fluid filler tube.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Install the fluid filler tube seal (3).
4. Install the fluid filler tube.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the fluid filler tube bolt (2).
^ Tighten the fluid filler tube bolt to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the fluid filler tube nut (1).
^ Tighten the fluid filler tube nut to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
8. Install the indicator.
9. Adjust the fluid level as necessary. Refer to the following information.
