Strut Mount: Description and Operation

The upper steering pivot point (strut bearing) is located in the upper spring seat. The bearing is permanently lubricated. The bearing requires no service. The upper spring seat is plastic. The spring seat is offset at an angle in order to minimize side loads on the strut and on the upper strut mount bushing.
