Storage Compartment - Rear - Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the storage compartment from the vehicle. Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - Rear (Storage Compartment Replacement - Rear) .




2. Open the rear storage compartment lid.




3. Remove the screws which secure the hinge to the bottom of the storage compartment.




4. Remove the inner lid cover screws to expose the hinge to the storage compartment lid.




5. Remove the springs from the upper hinge assembly.




6. Slide the broken hinge assembly through the inner cover plate assembly.




7. Remove the broken hinge.



Installation Procedure





1. Install a new hinge through the upper cover.




2. Install the springs to the hinge assembly and align the springs to the upper compartment lid.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the screws to the upper lid.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).





4. Install the screws to the lower hinge assembly.




5. Install the storage compartment to the vehicle. Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - Rear (Storage Compartment Replacement - Rear) .
