Video Cassette Player Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38778 Door Trim Pad and/or Garnish Trim Clip Remover




1. Slide both front seats to their rearward position.
2. Using your fingertips, grasp the upper console storage compartment at the edges and pull to release the upper console storage compartment from the center console.




3. Remove the two screws from the video cassette player mounting bracket.
4. Disconnect the video cassette player electrical connector.




5. Remove two push-in fasteners from the bottom of the video cassette player using J 38778.
6. Remove the right front seat inner seat trim.
7. Open the right front seat cup holder.
8. Remove the video cassette player from the center console.




9. Disconnect the RCA jacks and the power feed wire 1, 2,3, and 4 from the video cassette player.




10. Remove two screws and the video cassette player mounting bracket from the video cassette player.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the video cassette player mounting bracket and two screws to the video cassette player.




2. Connect the RCA jacks and the power feed wire to the video cassette player.
2.1. The yellow RCA pin connects to the yellow RCA jack 1.
2.2. The black RCA pin connects to the white RCA jack 2.
2.3. The red RCA pin connects to the red RCA jack 3.
2.4. The black & red power feed connects to the video cassette player power feed jack 4.




3. Carefully slide the video cassette player into the center console.
4. Reach through the upper console storage compartment opening in the center console and Install the foam insulator between the top of the video cassette player and the center console.
5. Close the right front seat cup holder.
6. Install the right front inner seat trim.
7. Install two push-in fasteners securing the bottom of the video cassette player to the center console.




8. Connect the video cassette player electrical connector.
9. Install the two screws to the video cassette player mounting bracket.




10. Install the upper console storage compartment to the center console.
11. Return both front seats to their original position.
