DTC B2823: Trip Odometer Reset Switch Circuit Low

  1. Perform instrument cluster diagnostic system check. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . Go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, select TRIP RESET SWITCH parameter in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) data list. If scan tool displays trip reset switch parameter as INACTIVE, go to next step. If trip reset parameter does read as INACTIVE, go to step  4 .
  3. Press and release trip reset switch, while observing trip reset switch parameter on scan tool. If trip reset switch parameter does not change when switch is pressed and released, check for an intermittent condition or poor electrical connection at IPC. If trip reset switch parameter changed when reset switch was pressed, go to next step.
  4. Replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Contact an authorized A/C Delco service center for transfer of information from failed Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) or affix appropriate label with necessary vehicle information on driver door pillar.
