Compass Variance
Compass variance is the difference between geographical north and true magnetic north. In some area of the country, this difference is great enough to cause false compass readings. Ensure the proper compass variance code is set in Driver Information Display (DID) for section of North America vehicle is driven. See COMPASS VARIANCE INDEX table.
