Brake Pedal Travel

  1. With engine off, depress brake pedal several times to exhaust vacuum from power brake unit. Depress brake pedal using approximately 66 lbs. (30 kg) pressure on pedal. Measure from floor board to rear of brake pedal. See Figure .
  2. Brake pedal-to-floorboard distance with pedal depressed should be 3.94-4.72" (100-120 mm). If distance is less than specified, problem may be rear brakes out of adjustment or worn, front pads worn, defective master cylinder or air in brake system.
