Trans Hot...Idle Engine

CAUTION: Driving vehicle while TRANS HOT...IDLE ENGINE message is displayed, can damage transmission.

If automatic transmission fluid temperature becomes extremely high, message center displays TRANS HOT..IDLE ENGINE. Set parking brake and place transmission in Park. Allow engine to idle for 10-15 minutes or until fluid temperature returns to normal, then TRANS HOT..IDLE ENGINE message is turned off.
