ECT Gauge Indicates "H" (Hot) At All Times

  1. Disconnect ECT sensor connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If ECT gauge indicates "C", replace ECT sensor. If ECT gauge does not indicate "C", go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster Gray 16-pin connector. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between connector terminal No. 6 (Yellow/White wire) and ground. If continuity is present, repair short to ground in Yellow/White wire. If continuity is not present, check instrument cluster printed circuit for cracks or bad connections. Repair or replace instrument cluster printed circuit as necessary. If instrument cluster printed circuit is okay, replace ECT gauge.
