ECT Gauge Indicates "C" (Cold) At All Times
- Disconnect ECT sensor connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between ECT sensor connector terminal and ground. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If ECT gauge does not indicate "H", go to next step. If gauge indicates "H", check connection at ECT sensor. If connection is okay, replace ECT sensor.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect fused jumper wire. Disconnect instrument cluster Gray 16-pin connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance of Yellow/White wire between instrument cluster Gray 16-pin connector terminal No. 6 and ECT sensor connector. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/White wire. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, check instrument cluster printed circuit for cracks and poor connections. Repair or replace instrument cluster printed circuit as necessary. If instrument cluster printed circuit is okay, replace ECT gauge.
