Steering Linkage Inspection

Caution: Apply the parking brake and block the drive wheels before performing this procedure in order to prevent bodily injury.

1. Put the transmission selector lever in the park position or neutral.
2. Set the parking brake and block the wheels.
3. Start the vehicle.
4. Turn the steering wheel 1/4 turn back and fourth.
5. Inspect the pivot joints for looseness.
6. Replace any damaged or worn pivot joints.
