Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure
Tools Required
- J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

1. Remove the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle.





2. Remove the bearing retainer (1) using J 23653-SIR.





3. Remove the shaft lock shield assembly (5).
4. Remove the turn signal cancel cam assembly (4).
5. Remove the upper bearing spring (3).
6. Remove the upper bearing inner race seat (2).
7. Remove the inner race (1).





8. Remove the 3 flat head screws (1).
9. Remove the switch mounting bracket (2).
