Tilt Head Housing - Assemble

Assembly Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the switch mounting bracket (2) secured by 3 flat head screws (1).
Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the inner race (4).
3. Install the upper bearing inner race seat (3).
4. Install the upper bearing spring (2).
5. Lubricate the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1) with synthetic grease.
6. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).





7. Center the race and upper shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o'clock position (2).





8. Install the shaft lock shield assembly (2).
9. Install the bearing retainer (1). Bearing retainer must be firmly seated in the groove on the race and upper shaft assembly (3).
10. Install the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble - Off Vehicle.
