Rear Side Door Removal

Removal Procedure




1. Open and support the rear door.
2. Remove the rear door rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement (Impala)
3. Remove the bolt from the upper hinge keeper strap.

Important: Do not dislodge the washer on the lower hinge.


4. Remove the bolts from the lower door hinges side.
5. Remove the rear door from the upper hinge, with an assistant.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the rear door with an assistant.
Lower the rear door on to the upper door hinge body side strap.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the lower door hinge side bolts with an assistant.

Tighten the lower door hinge side bolts to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).

3. Install the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts.

Tighten the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).

4. Remove the support from the rear door.
5. Install the rear door rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement (Impala)
6. Inspect the rear door for proper operation and alignment. Refer to Door Adjustment (Rear) (Adjustments)Door Adjustment (Front) (Adjustments).
