Front Side Door Replacement (Impala)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. Service and Repair
2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
3. Remove the front door outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Impala) (Power Mirror Replacement).
4. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Sealing Strip).
5. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Window Replacement).
6. Remove the front door frame applique. Refer to Front Door Frame Applique Replacement (Impala) ().
7. Remove the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair
8. Remove the front door outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Impala) (Service and Repair).
9. Remove the front door inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Impala) ().
10. Remove the front door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Lock Replacement).
11. Remove the door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Weatherstrip).
12. Remove the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement).
13. Remove the front door wiring harness. Service and Repair
14. Remove the front door body side moldings. Refer to Body Side Molding Replacement (Service and Repair) in Exterior Trim.
15. Support the front door.
16. Remove the front door side hinges. Refer to Door Hinge Replacement (Impala Rear) (Service and Repair)Door Hinge Replacement (Impala Front) (Service and Repair).
17. Remove the front door from the vehicle with an assistant.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the front door with an assistant.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the front door side hinge. Refer to Door Hinge Replacement (Impala Rear) (Service and Repair)Door Hinge Replacement (Impala Front) (Service and Repair).

Tighten the front door hinge bolts to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).

3. Install the front door wiring harness. Refer to Front Door Wiring Harness Replacement. Service and Repair or Rear Door Wiring Harness Replacement. Service and Repair
4. Install the front door rubber conduit. Service and Repair
5. Install the front door body side moldings. Refer to body Side Molding Replacement (Service and Repair) in Exterior Trim.
6. Install the front door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Weatherstrip).
7. Install the front door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Lock Replacement).
8. Install the front door inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Impala) ().
9. Install the front door outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Impala) (Service and Repair).
10. Install the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair
11. Install the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Window Replacement).
12. Install the front door outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Impala) (Door Window Sealing Strip).
13. Install the front door outside rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Impala) (Power Mirror Replacement).
14. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
15. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. Service and Repair
16. Inspect the front door for proper operation and alignment. Adjustments
