Door Removal - Front (Impala)

Removal Procedure




1. Open and support the front door.
2. Remove the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement).
3. Remove the bolt from the upper hinge keeper strap.

Important: Do not disloge the washer on the lower hinge.


4. Remove the bolts from the lower door hinges side
5. Remove the front door from the upper hinge, by lifting off with an assistant.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front door with an assistant.
Lower the front door on to the upper door hinge body side strap.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the lower door hinge side bolts with an assistant.

Tighten the lower door hinge side bolts to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).

3. Install the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts with an assistant.

Tighten the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).

4. Remove the support from the front door.
5. Install the front door rubber conduit. Refer to Front Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Wiring Conduit Replacement).
6. Inspect the front door for proper operation and alignment. Refer to Door Adjustment (Rear) (Adjustments)Door Adjustment (Front) (Adjustments).
