Change Engine Oil Message Inoperative

  1. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic check was performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic check was not performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Install scan tool. Following scan tool manufacturer's instructions, observe ENGINE OIL LIFE parameter in PCM ENGINE DATA 2 data list. If 0% is displayed, go to next step. If 0% is not displayed, system is operating normally.
  3. Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
  4. Operate system to verify repair. If system operates normally, repair is complete. If system does not operate normally, return to step  2.
