Low Oil Level Warning Indicator

Low oil level warning indicator is controlled by Powertrain Control Module (PCM). PCM will check oil level once every ignition cycle at engine start-up. After engine shut-off, there must be a 3-minute delay or a 20°F (11°C) drop in coolant temperature before PCM will check oil level again. When oil level goes below minimum level, circuit is completed and light is turned on.
