DTC B0160: Temperature Sensor Circuit Low: Testing
- If driver information center diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If driver information center diagnostic system check was not performed, go to DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- If DIC displays SC, go to next step. If SC is not displayed, problem is intermittent. Check for poor harness connections or connector damage. Also check for faulty wiring. Repair wiring and/or connections as necessary. After repair check system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position, Disconnect ambient air temperature gauge sensor harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If DIC does not display OC, go to next step. If DIC displays OC, go to step 5.
- Check Light Green/Black wire between ambient air temperature gauge sensor harness connector terminal "A" and DIC harness connector terminal No. 10 for short to ground. Repair Light Green/Black wire as necessary. After repair, check system for normal operation. If wire is okay, go to step 6.
- Check for poor connection or connector damage at ambient air temperature gauge sensor harness connector. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, check system for normal operation. If no problem is found, go to step 7.
- Check for poor connection or connector damage at DIC connector. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, check system for normal operation. If no problem is found, go to step 8.
- Replace ambient air temperature gauge sensor. After repair, check system for normal operation.
- Replace DIC. See DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER (DIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, check system for normal operation and go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Operate vehicle normally to verify repair. Check for stored DTCs. If DTC B0160 has reset, return to step 2. If DTC is not reset, system is okay.
