Diagnostic Procedure

- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. If DTC B3033 resets, go to next step. If DTC B3033 does not reset, check for intermittents and poor connections. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Inspect area around ignition lock cylinder for any device which could create a magnetic field. Repair as necessary. If there are no magnetic devices around ignition lock cylinder, go to next step.
- Check mechanical operation of ignition switch. If there is binding or damage, replace ignition switch. If no problem exists, go to next step.
- Replace Passlock(tm) sensor. See PASSLOCK(tm) LOCK CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform auto learn procedure. See PROGRAMMING . If DTC still exists, go to next step. If DTC does not exist, go to step 6 .
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform auto learn procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
