Rear Brake Shoes: Installation

Using brake lubricant, lubricate adjusting screw threads and socket and 6 contact pads on backing plate. To install, reverse removal procedure. See Figure. Before installing drum and wheel, adjust rear brake shoes. See REAR BRAKE SHOES  under ADJUSTMENTS. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Lower vehicle. Make several forward and reverse stops, applying firm force to brake pedal.
