Master Cylinder: Notes

  1. Remove master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check reservoir cap and diaphragm for cuts, cracks, nicks or deformation. Replace as necessary. Remove fluid level sensor and proportioning valves (if equipped). While depressing primary piston, remove retainer clip.
  2. Remove primary and secondary pistons, springs, spring retainers and seals by applying low pressure compressed air into upper outlet port at blind end of bore, with all other ports plugged. Clean all parts with clean denatured alcohol. See Fig 1.
