Master Cylinder: Assembly

CAUTION: DO NOT use abrasives or hone inside master cylinder bore. If scoring or corrosion are noted, replace master cylinder.

Lubricate all components and master cylinder bore for reassembly, with clean brake fluid. Install springs, spring retainers, seals and pistons. See Figure. Install retainer, while depressing primary piston into bore. Install proportioning valves (if equipped). Install brake fluid reservoir, fluid level sensor and diaphragm cap.
