Removal & Installation
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove defroster grille. On Sunfire, remove instrument panel valance. On all models, use a non-marring tool to pry out end caps. Remove screws under end caps.
- Open glove box, and remove glove box trim plate and accessory trim plate screws. Remove screws from bracket in upper left corner of glove box. Remove accessory trim plate. Remove instrument panel trim pad. On Cavalier, remove instrument panel cluster trim plate. On all models, remove screws from top of instrument cluster.
- Remove instrument cluster. See Fig 1

. To install, reverse removal procedure. Enable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. If vehicle is equipped with Passlock(tm) system, see PROGRAMMING
