Diesel (Single Tank)
NOTE:
Resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at fuel pump/sender (component side) should be zero ohms when tank is empty and 90 ohms when tank is full.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel pump/sender harness connector. Using a fused jumper wire, ground terminal "B" (Purple wire) at fuel pump/sender harness connector. Turn ignition on. If fuel gauge indicates empty, go to step 4. If fuel gauge does not indicate empty, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector. Check continuity of Purple wire between terminal "B" at fuel pump/sender harness connector and terminal No. 16 at instrument cluster harness connector. See Figure. If continuity does not exists, go to next step. If continuity exists, go to step 5
- Repair open in Purple wire between fuel pump/sender and instrument cluster.
- Replace fuel pump/sender.
- Replace instrument cluster.
