Test 5: Fuel Gauge Always Indicates Full: Gasoline

NOTE: Before performing this test procedure, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). If DTCs P0641, P0642 and/or P0643 exist, perform appropriate repair procedure. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector. Disconnect Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Blue harness connector C1. Check continuity of Purple wire between terminal No. 9 at VCM harness connector C1 and terminal No. 16 at instrument cluster harness connector. See Figure and Fig 1 . If continuity exists, go to step  3. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  2. Repair open in Purple wire between VCM and instrument cluster.
  3. Replace instrument cluster.
