Park Brake Cable - Rear RWD Pickups: Installation

  1. Install the park brake cable in the chassis and rear axle housing retainers.
  2. Install the rear park brake cable in the backing plate.
  3. Install the park brake cable in the park brake level.
  4. Install the rear brake shoes. See DRUM BRAKE SHOE .
  5. Install the park brake cable to the equalizer.
  6. Install the park brake cable in the park brake cable connector. See Figure.
  7. Install the rear brake drums. See BRAKE DRUM .
  8. Using a screwdriver, adjust the rear brake shoes. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  9. Adjust the park brakes. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
