Removal & Installation

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
Move applicable front seat to full forward position. Remove carpet retainers in area surrounding B-pillar. Remove lower B-pillar trim. Loosen SIS bolts. Remove SIS from B-pillar by sliding up and out of slots in B-pillar sheet metal. See Fig 1. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip from SIS connector. Disconnect SIS connector.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten SIS bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
