Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove pushpin retainer from rear of headliner. Remove left and right sun visors and sun visor clips. Remove left and right A-, B- and C-pillar trim panels. Remove rear headliner trim panel. Remove left and right D-pillar trim. Using a small, flat-blade screwdriver, remove coat hooks.
  3. On models equipped with sunroof, carefully pull down on headliner at sunroof switch. Disconnect sunroof switch connectors. On models equipped with OnStar, disconnect OnStar wiring harness. Pull headliner down at right rear corner and disconnect wiring harness. Disconnect wiring harness behind driver-side cargo trim panel. Carefully disengage Velcro and magnetic attachments from headliner. Remove headliner through lift gate opening.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten seat belt bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
