Test 9: Driver Information Center Inoperative
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect compass/temperature display module 8-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Connect a test light between ground and terminal "E" (Yellow wire) at compass/temperature display module harness connector. See Fig 1
. If test light illuminates, disconnect test light and go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 3
.
- Connect test light between terminals "E" (Yellow wire) and "F" (Black wire) at compass/temperature display module harness connector. If test light does not illuminate, go step 5
. If test illuminates, go to step 4
.
- Repair open in Yellow wire between compass/temperature display module and instrument panel fuse block. See OVERHEAD CONSOLE - ASTRO & SAFARI article. After repairs, go to step 6
.
- Replace compass/temperature display module. See COMPASS/TEMPERATURE DISPLAY MODULE
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 6
.
- Repair open in Black wire between compass/temperature display module and ground connection. Ground is located at front of engine, near thermostat housing. See wiring diagram in OVERHEAD CONSOLE - ASTRO & SAFARI article. After repairs, go to next step.
- Connect all disconnected components. Check system for proper operation. If system operates properly, test is complete. If system does not operate properly, go to step 1
