Test 10: Driver Information Center Temperature Display Always Reads SC

NOTE: Outside ambient air temperature sensor is also referred to as ambient air temperature sensor.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ambient air temperature sensor 2-pin connector and observe Diver Information Center (DIC) display. If display indicates SC, go to next step. If display does not indicate SC, go to step  3 .
  2. Repair short to ground in Light Green/Black wire between ambient air temperature sensor, compass/temperature display module and convenience center. See OVERHEAD CONSOLE - ASTRO & SAFARI article.
  3. Replace ambient air temperature sensor. See AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Connect all disconnected components. Check system for proper operation. If system operates properly, test is complete. If system does not operate properly, go to step  1 .
