Removal & Installation
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Deactivate air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Set parking brake. Turn ignition on. Move gear selector to first gear position. Lower tilt steering column to lowest position (if equipped). Gently pull trim plate away from instrument cluster until all fasteners are released. Disconnect electrical connectors. Remove trim plate from instrument panel.
- Remove 4 instrument cluster-to-instrument panel screws. See Fig 1 . Remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.
