Silhouette, Trans Sport & Venture

  1. Ensure parking brake is released. Raise and support vehicle. Mark relationship of wheel and drum bearing flange. Remove rear wheels. Remove brake drums. Verify parking brake lever stops are against brake shoe webs.
  2. Loosen parking brake cable adjusting nut (if necessary). Rotate adjusting screw until clearance between brake drum and shoes is .050" (1.27 mm). Use brake drum diameter gauge to determine clearance.
  3. Install brake drums. Install wheels. Apply brakes 30-35 times with normal pedal force. Pause about one second between applications.
