Oil Pressure Warning Indicator Is On When Engine Is Running & Oil Pressure Is Normal

  1. Disconnect engine oil pressure indicator switch connector. Start engine and let it idle. If oil pressure warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If oil pressure warning indicator does not illuminate, go to step  4 .
  2. Check for short to ground in circuit No. 31 (Tan wire) between instrument cluster Natural 18-pin connector C1, underhood accessory wiring junction block and engine oil pressure indicator switch. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  3. Replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  4. Replace engine oil pressure indicator switch. Recheck system operation.
