Brake Warning Indicator Is Off When Brake Fluid Is Low
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Set parking brake. Release parking brake. If BRAKE warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If BRAKE warning indicator does not illuminate, go to BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR INOPERATIVE test.
- Disconnect brake fluid level indicator sensor connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between brake fluid level indicator sensor harness connector terminals "A" (Black wire) and "B" (Tan/White wire). If BRAKE warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If BRAKE warning indicator does not illuminate, go to step 4 .
- Replace brake fluid level indicator sensor. Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect 3-amp fused jumper wire between brake fluid level indicator sensor terminal "B" (Tan/White wire) and ground. If BRAKE warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If BRAKE warning indicator does not illuminate, go to step 6 .
- Repair poor connection or open in circuit No. 1450 (Black wire) between brake fluid level indicator sensor and ground. Recheck system operation.
- Repair poor connection or open in circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire) between splice S207 (located in instrument panel harness under left side of instrument panel, about 2" from hazard light/turn signal flasher breakout) and brake fluid level indicator sensor. Recheck system operation.
