Brake Warning Indicator Always On
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect brake fluid level indicator sensor. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If BRAKE warning indicator illuminates, go to step 3 . If BRAKE warning indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Replace brake fluid level indicator sensor. Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect parking brake indicator switch connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If BRAKE warning indicator illuminates, go to step 5 . If BRAKE warning indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Replace parking brake indicator switch. Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Daytime Running Lights (DRL) control module Blue 8-pin connector C2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If BRAKE warning indicator illuminates, go to step 7 . If BRAKE warning indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Check for short to ground in circuit No. 1134 (Light Blue wire) between DRL control module and parking brake indicator switch. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, replace Daytime Running Lights (DRL) control module. Recheck system operation.
- Check for short to ground in circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire). Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
