Fuel Gauge Accuracy Test

Using scan tool, command fuel gauge to read 50 percent (half full). Fuel gauge should indicate about half full. Using scan tool, check for Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If any PCM DTCs exist, locate and repair problem in PCM system. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no PCM DTCs exist, repair or replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
