Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Did you perform Diagnostic System Check - Transfer Case? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
    2. NOTE: This code can get set falsely due to the improper clearing of DTCs or replacement of a blown CTSY LP fuse.
  2. Inspect the CTSY LP fuse for an open. Was there a problem found? If yes, go to step  4. If no, go to next step.
  3. Test the battery positive voltage circuit (CKT 40) for an open or high resistance. Cycle the ignition 5 times. Check to see if DTC 1 has cleared. Has DTC 1 cleared? If yes, go to step  7. If no, go to step  6.
  4. Replace fuse. Drive vehicle under various road conditions and recheck fuse. Did the fuse blow again? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  7.
  5. Test the battery positive voltage circuit (CKT 40) for a short to ground. Did you find and correct the condition? If yes, go to step  7. If no, go to next step.
  6. Replace transfer case shift control module. After replacing module, go to next step.
  7. Clear all DTCs from memory. Operate vehicle while pressing each of the buttons on the transfer case shift control switch. Does the DTC reset? If yes, go to step  2. If no, system is okay.
