Transmission Range Indicators Are Incorrect Or Missing
- Turn ignition on. Move shift lever through all positions. If all indicators do not illuminate, go to next step. If some indicators illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Disconnect IPC connector. Connect test light between IPC harness connector terminal B10 (Pink wire) and ground. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Pink wire between instrument panel fuse block and IPC.
- Disconnect Park/Neutral Position and Backup Lamp switch connector. Connect a self-powered test light between harness connector C2 terminal "D" (Black/White wire) and ground. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black/White wire between Park/Neutral Position and Backup Lamp switch connector C2 terminal "D".
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect IPC. Check continuity of wiring between IPC and Park/Neutral Position and Backup Lamp switch. Check Black/White wire between switch connector C1 terminal "A" and IPC terminal B4. Check Yellow wire between switch connector C1 terminal "D" and IPC terminal B5. Check Gray wire between switch connector C1 terminal "B" and IPC terminal B6. Check White wire between switch connector C1 terminal "C" and IPC terminal B7. Repair as necessary. If no problems are found, go to next step.
- Reconnect IPC. Turn ignition on. Check indicators by using fused jumper wires to connect switch harness connector terminals to ground. See MODULE INPUT TEST table. If indicators are okay, replace Park/Neutral Position and Backup Lamp switch. If indicators do not operate as noted, replace Instrument Panel Cluster.
