Water In Fuel Indicator Is Inoperative (Diesel)
- Turn ignition to RUN position. Using test light, backprobe water in fuel sender connector Black wire terminal to battery power. If test light lights, go to next step. If test light does not light, repair open in Black wire between sensor and ground splice.
- Using test light, backprobe water in fuel sender connector Pink wire terminal to ground. If test light lights, go to next step. If test light does not light, repair open in Pink wire.
- Disconnect water in fuel sender harness connector. Connect fused jumper wire between Yellow/Black wire terminal of sender connector and ground. If water in fuel indicator lights, replace sender. If indicator does not light, go to next step.
- Remove jumper wire. Using test light. backprobe between instrument cluster harness connector terminal No. 22 (Pink wire) and ground. If test light lights, repair open in Yellow/Black wire between instrument cluster harness connector and water in fuel sender. If no open is found, replace instrument cluster. If test light does not light, repair open in Pink wire.
