Oil Pressure Gauge Always Reads Zero

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Disconnect oil pressure sender harness connector. If oil pressure gauge remains at zero, go to next step. If gauge moves toward HIGH, replace oil pressure sender.
  2. Using a test light, backprobe instrument cluster harness terminal No. 15 (Tan wire) to battery power. If test light does not light, go to next step. If test light lights, repair short to ground in Tan wire.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe instrument cluster harness terminal No. 31 (Black/White wire) to battery power. If test light does not light, repair open in Black/White wire. If test light lights, check instrument cluster printed circuit. If printed circuit is okay, replace oil pressure gauge.
