Mainshaft Bearing/Bushing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
^ J 23907 Slide Hammer
^ J 26941 Extension Housing Seal Remover





1. Remove the propeller shaft.
2. Remove the main shaft seal using J 23907 and J 26941

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

^ J 39440 Extension Housing Seal Installer





1. Install the main shaft seal using J 39440
2. Lubricate the inside diameter of the seal. Use only Dexron III automatic transmission fluid.
3. Install the propeller shaft.
4. Inspect the transmission fluid level.

NOTICE: Use only DEXRON III Automatic Transmission Lubricant for this manual transmission assembly. Other lubricants or additives may damage the blocker ring friction material or the adhesives.

5. Add transmission fluid, if necessary.
