Removal of the Fuel Line Protectors

1998 Chevrolet Camaro
1998 Pontiac Firebird
Starting with the 1998 model year, the fuel line protectors (Figure 1) were removed from under the vehicle. These fuel line protectors may have been used as lifting points to raise the vehicle on the hoist. With the fuel line protectors being removed, damage may now occur to the front fenders if the vehicle is lifted at these locations.
Refer to (Figure 2) for the proper front hoist pad location and (Figure 3) for the rear hoist pad location.
