A/C Evaporator Tube

A/C Evaporator Tube:






Remove or Disconnect

1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Battery negative cable.
3. Electrical connector at refrigerant pressure sensor.
4. Evaporator tube fitting at evaporator.
^ Use back-up wrench to hold evaporator fitting while loosening evaporator tube fitting.
5. Bolt/screw.
6. Evaporator tube.
^ Discard O-rings.

Install or Connect

1. Clean evaporator tube fittings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. O-rings to evaporator tube.
^ Lightly coat O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
3. Evaporator tube fitting to evaporator.
^ Do not tighten at this time.
4. Bolt/screw.

Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 16 N.m (12 lb. ft.).
^ Evaporator tube fitting to 38 N.m (28 lb. ft.).

5. Electrical connector to refrigerant pressure sensor.
6. Battery negative cable.
7. Charge A/C system.
8. Leak-test fittings.
