Left Cylinder Head

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J25034-C Pulley Puller Remover





1. Remove the intake manifold.





2. Remove the vapor vent pipe.





3. Remove the power steering pump pulley using J25034-C.





4. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose (2) from the reservoir (1).





5. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose (1) from the pump (2).





6. Remove the power steering pump.





7. Remove the power steering pump bracket.





8. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.





9. Remove the left side exhaust manifold.





10. Remove the valve rocker arms, pedestal, and valve pushrods.
11. Remove the ground wires and bolts from the rear of the head.





12. Remove the left side cylinder head. Refer to "Cylinder Head Removal" in Unit Repair of Engine.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J25033-C Pulley Pump Installer

1. Install the left side cylinder head. Refer to "Cylinder Head Installation" in Unit Repair of Engine.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the ground wires and bolts to the rear of the head.
^ Tighten the ground bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the valve rocker arms, pedestal, and valve pushrods.





4. Install the left side exhaust manifold.





5. Install the valve rocker arm cover.





6. Install the power steering pump bracket.
^ Tighten the steering pump brackets to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





7. Install the power steering pump.
^ Tighten the pump brace bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





8. Install the power steering gear inlet hose (1) to the pump (2).
^ Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose (1) fitting to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).





9. Install the power steering gear outlet hose (2) to the reservoir (1).





10. Install the power steering pump pulley using the J25033-C.





11. Install the vapor vent pipe.





12. Install the intake manifold.
13. Inspect for any leaks.
